Guests arrive from church to drinks, refreshments and soft music as everyone settles in.
Opening prayer and welcome remarks from the Master of Ceremonies.
Dad’s grand entrance, escorted in by family, to song and applause.
A short address from the family, with highlights from seventy remarkable years.
Grace over the food, followed by a shared meal among family and friends.
Words from children, grandchildren, siblings and friends, followed by a toast to the celebrant.
Presentation and cutting of the cake, shared with loved ones to a round of “Happy Birthday.”
Presentation of gifts to the celebrant, with a special dance if the family wishes.
Photos by family units, church group and friends to mark the day together.
A vote of thanks to all who came, followed by a closing prayer.
Music, mingling and unhurried conversation as the celebration winds down.
